For over a half-century, Lambert Kay® has provided pet lovers with the solutions they need to enjoy happy, healthy relationships with their furry friends.

A Brief Lambert Kay® History
1948
Julius Kay, a chemist with a love for animals, began making nutritional supplements for his own dogs. The formulas proved so promising that he marketed them to pet shops throughout southern California.

1950's
Business prospered and Kay teamed up with Dr. Lambertson, a man with an understanding of manufacturing. Together, they formed Lambert Kay®, beginning with LINATONE® Food Supplements, THERALIN® Vitamins and Minerals, AVITRON® Bird Vitamins and a number of other pet care products. Distribution expanded nationwide as LINATONE® became a leading pet shop item.

1960's
The Company continued to grow and, in 1968, Julius Kay sold Lambert Kay® to Carter-Wallace. He remained as president of the new Carter-Wallace division, but died in a tragic air crash a short while later.

In an effort to broaden the product base, the Company acquired Westwood Laboratories in the late 60's. This added a wide range of pet shampoos, conditioners, and grooming aids to the line.

1970's
The decade dawned with the acquisition of The Winsted Company. This extended Lambert Kay® into grooming tools, collars and leads and also expanded its visibility as a marketer of top-quality products.

In 1975 Lambert Kay® ™ moved its headquarters and manufacturing facilities to the main Carter-Wallace plant in Cranbury, New Jersey. Lambert Kay consumers now had the added assurance of using pet products made in a government regulated human pharmaceuticals plant. Few companies in the industry manufactured under such stringent quality controls.

1980's & 1990's
Lambert Kay® continued to grow dramatically, mainly through introduction of many new products. Innovative and trend-setting products such as housebreaking pads for puppies with pheromone attractant and odor control, chewable fleece pet toys and pet odor destroyers have led the way. In 1999, Lambert Kay also acquired Tarel 7, which added additional cat care products to its growing portfolio.
